Alumni news

Thank you to Philippe Boisvert, Megan Green and Kordell Greenaway, the 2014-2015 Heritage Athletes of the year who came back to our 2016 Athletic Awards banquet to pass on their trophies to this year's recipients.

Megan is currently representing the Champlain St-Lambert Cavalier's Div. 1 CEGEP soccer team.  Kordell is playing in the Vanier Cheetah's CEGEP Div. 1 basketball team and Philippe is on the Champlain-Lennoxville Cougars' Div. 1 Hockey team.  Keep striving for excellence!

At the same time, we would like to congratulate Philippe for being awarded the Guy Lafleur Award of Excellence last May, representing CEGEP hockey for excellence on the ice as well as in the classroom.  You may read an article at the RSEQ website. 

Below are some of our Sports Excellence program alumni who have gone on to compete at a higher level in their respective sports.


Carmine Guerriero - Goaltender at the University of Alabama Huntsville in NCAA Division 1 Men's ice hockey.  Currently majoring in Business Management.  Was recently named to the NCAA division 1 pre-season all-America team.  

Jennifer Crowe - CIS Basketball for Ottawa University, majoring in Electrical Engineering.

                           Played for Dawson CEGEP AAA in 2012-2013 and 2013-2014.  Was a member of the U17 Quebec Team in 2012.

Jessica Porfilio - McGill University Cross Country team MVP 2011, 2012 and 2013.  Gold Medal RSEQ provincials 2012 and silver medal 2013.

                           Champlain College female athlete of the year 2009/2010 and 2010/2011.  Team MVP and Student-Athlete Academic All-Canadian.

Mitchell Keating - Champlain College AAA Basketball 2013-2014, 2014-2015 and 2015-2015.  Majoring in Business.

                             Was a member of U17 Team Quebec in 2013. 

Marek Adamowicz - 2014 Canadian Junior Track and Field Championships 10k racewalk champion.  1st place in the 10km Canada vs. USA racewalk Junior Dual. 

                                Finished 22nd in the 2014 IAAF World Junior Cahmpionships 10k racewalk Championships.    

Tyris Lebeau - Member of Sports Excellence Track and Field program and graduated in 2014. He excelled in the 100m and 200m sprint, where he holds the school records for both events.  He was selected to represent Canada on the U18 National football team in February 2015.  Currently plays DB for the Vanier Cheetahs in the RSEQ Division 1 Collegial league.  

The Sports Excellence class of 2015 was an exceptionally strong class.  Above are three members of the 2015 group who have gone on to play CEGEP Division 1 Hockey.

Julien Bureau-Blais (left) - Dawson College Blues.

Philippe Boisvert (middle) - Champlain Lennoxville Cougars.  Currently majoring in Health Sciences.

Jarod Pita (right) - Dawson College Blues.  Currently majoring in Law, Society and Justice.


Kordell Greenaway - Vanier College Cheetahs Division 1 Basketball.  Member of Team Quebec Basketball in 2013, 2014 and 2015.  Was one out of 15 players selected across Canada to take part in the America's team Camp in 2014.
